STUDENTS` DAY 08-09 

The students’ day for the academic year 2008-09 was celebrated at the Christ Nagar English Higher Secondary school on Thursday, July 17, 2008 . A selected group of students adorned all the positions from the Principal to the teacher. Rev Fr Paul Mangad CMI, principal, handed over the ‘Golden Key’ to the student principal symbolising the transfer of power for a day to the students in the morning assembly. Master Aneesh A 12 B, Kumari Jeena Godfrin 12A, Master Sachin C 12C, Master Ceragil Austin Prince 10C, and Master Sunny Clain Pereira 10B were selected as the Principal, vice principal, Student co-coordinator and administrative assistants respectively. Over 60 students from classes 10 and 12 were selected as the student teachers. A jury consisting of a few teachers evaluated the teaching performance, and selected the best teachers among the student teachers. Master Bharat Raj 12A and Deepika Dileep 12B were selected as the best student teachers.

HATS OFF TO THE PRIDE OF CHRIST NAGAR! 

With all the festivities, Christ Nagar honoured Ms Lakshmy Rangan, the music teacher who became the voice of Kerala through the programme Nattile Tarum organised by Malayala Manorama Radio Mango held on June 4, 2008. Sri John Mundakkayam was the guest speaker on the day of celebration, June 13, 2008. Rev. Fr Mathews Chackalackal CMI, Manager of Christ Nagar Group of Schools and Rev. Fr Paul Mangad the Principal spoke on the occasion. Ms Lakshmi Rangan once again enthralled the audience with her award winning renelition.

INVESTITURE 

The student representatives willingly shouldered their responsibilities on 24th June, 2008, the day chosen for investiture. The lighting of the lamp by the Principal Rev.Fr Paul Mangad CMI and the four house mistresses marked the beginning of the swearing in ceremony. The oath of office was administered to the newly selected office bearers. The school flags and the house flags were handed over to the respective representatives. The principal congratulated the new office-bearers. Mr Thomas Mani spoke felicitating the ocasion.

FRESH ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 
SCHOOL RE-OPENING 08-09 

The formal inauguration of the new academic year 2008-09 was on 2nd June 2008. The function began with the lighting of the traditional lamp. Principal Rev. Fr Paul Mangad CMI welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest Sri James Varghese, Secretary, General Education, delivered an inspiring speech. The event was presided over by Rev. Fr Mathews Chackalackal CMI, Manager, Christ Nagar Group of Schools. The school magazine, ‘Excelsior-2008’ was released at the function. The school toppers of the academic year 2007-08 were duly honoured on the occasion.
